Dr. Rachel Herz is considered one of the world’s leading experts in olfactory psychology.  She has been conducting research on the sense of smell for 19 years and is the author of the first popular book about smell psychology: The Scent of Desire: Discovering Our Enigmatic Sense of Smell (published by William Morrow: Harper Collins, 2007) which has received numerous accolades including being selected as a finalist for the “2009 AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books.”  Dr. Herz is on the faculty at Brown University and serves on several advisory boards, including The Fragrance Foundation and she is a keynote speaker for the Institute of Food Technologists. Dr. Herz also consults for many of the world’s leading multinational flavor and fragrance companies, and is an expert witness for legal cases involving smell and flavor perception.
